I am not sure if the game knows how to properly read the event or maybe the AI is using the menu too and it causes a crash. Certain parts of the menu will crash when you select them, and it will always crash no matter what for me if I have the cheatmenu in my events. I would love to use it as it would allow easier control over your populations ideology, but it does not seem to work.
